CETO Talent are currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a major cycling and highways improvement project in the Hounslow area.
The project involves changes to the existing road layout to introduce a bi-directional cycle track, forming part of a wider programme of transport and infrastructure improvements across London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to work within a complex infrastructure environment, supporting the successful delivery of a live highways project.
The role will be based from Southwark in London, with hybrid working available two days per week in the office. The project itself is located in the Hounslow area, so candidates should be com+fortable attending project and site meetings as required.
The Role
Working as part of the project delivery team, you will support the management and coordination of the project through its various stages, working closely with internal teams, technical specialists, contractors and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a complex project environment and will have strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of the project from planning through to completion
- Assisting with project planning, coordination and monitoring
- Working with project teams, technical specialists, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Monitoring project progress and identifying potential risks, issues and dependencies
- Supporting the management of project risks and opportunities
- Assisting with project reporting, governance and documentation
- Supporting the coordination of design and delivery activities
- Working collaboratively with technical and project management teams
- Helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed requirements
- Managing competing priorities within a complex project environment
About You
The client is looking for someone with a solid Project Management background who is comfortable working within a complex project environment.
General project management experience is essential. Candidates with experience delivering roads, highways, construction or wider infrastructure projects would be particularly well suited, but this is not limited to candidates from a highways background.
You should be organised, proactive and confident coordinating multiple activities, stakeholders and project requirements. The ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies and competing priorities is important.
The hiring team is open to candidates who may not have every element of the experience listed, provided they can demonstrate strong project management capability and relevant experience that can transfer into the role.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in Project Management or Assistant Project Management
- Strong understanding of project delivery and coordination
- Experience working within a complex project or organisational environment
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and competing priorities
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Roads, highways or construction delivery experience would be advantageous
- Wider infrastructure or transport experience would also be beneficial
- Civil Engineering experience or qualifications would be advantageous
