A specialist cost consultancy in London is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its high-performing team. This is a strong opportunity for a developing surveyor to gain exposure to major projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, life sciences, and mixed-use sectors while working within a business known for technical quality and strong client relationships.

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of projects across both pre- and post-contract stages. You will assist with cost planning, procurement, tendering, valuations, change control, and reporting, while working closely with senior surveyors, clients, and wider design teams.

This role would suit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who already has some consultancy experience and is ready to build greater confidence, take on more project responsibility, and progress towards MRICS within a structured and supportive environment.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with cost plans, estimates, and early-stage budget advice

  • Supporting tender preparation, procurement, and contractor analysis

  • Helping manage valuations, variations, and change control

  • Producing cost reports and maintaining accurate project records

  • Attending client meetings, design reviews, and site visits

  • Supporting final account preparation and project close-out

  • Working alongside senior team members across multiple live schemes

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

  • Previous experience within a UK consultancy environment

  • Exposure to both pre- and post-contract cost management

  • Working towards MRICS or keen to begin the APC process

  • Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills

  • Commercially aware, proactive, and keen to take on responsibility
