Assistant Quantity Surveyor - High Rise / Build to Rent

Location - Warrington

Salary/Package - £35,000 - £40,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

The Role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the wider commercial team, gaining exposure to major residential and high-rise projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Quantity Surveying team with the commercial management of projects

  • Assisting with valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts

  • Supporting the preparation of CVRs, cost reports, and financial forecasts

  • Assisting with subcontract procurement and account management

  • Reviewing project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities

  • Working closely with site and project teams to monitor project performance

  • Assisting with contract administration and commercial reporting

  • Supporting the senior commercial team throughout the project lifecycle

  • Developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers



The Ideal Candidate

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • Previous experience within a construction or Quantity Surveying environment

  • Ideally some experience within residential construction

  • A Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification, or be working towards one

  • Good understanding of construction costs and commercial processes

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills

  • A proactive attitude with a desire to progress within the commercial function
