Freelance Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Swindon / Oxfordshire
Day Rate: £230 – £260 per day
Contract: 12 Months

THE OPPORTUNITY

CPXR is recruiting for a Freelance Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support a 12-month construction project based near Swindon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with previous construction site experience who is looking to continue developing their commercial and Quantity Surveying experience.

Working closely with the commercial and site teams, the role will involve providing day-to-day support across purchasing, invoicing, record keeping, deliveries and general commercial administration.

THE ROLE

• Assist with purchasing and procurement activities
• Process invoices and maintain accurate commercial records
• Keep the site commercial diary up to date
• Liaise with the site team to coordinate and book deliveries
• Maintain accurate project information and documentation
• Support the wider commercial team with general QS and administrative duties

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or within a commercial support role
• Previous experience working within a construction site environment
• A good understanding of day-to-day construction site operations
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with site and commercial teams
• A practical, reliable and hands-on approach

Candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds will be considered. Previous trade or civils experience is not essential.

This opportunity could particularly suit someone who has progressed from a site-based position into an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or commercial role.

DAY RATE & BENEFITS

• £230 – £260 per day
• 12-month freelance assignment
• Minimum two days per week on site near Swindon
• Remaining days based from the Oxfordshire office
• Flexibility around working hours
• Opportunity to develop further commercial and Quantity Surveying experience
