A highly respected workplace design and build specialist is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in London.

As a result of continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial delivery of multiple high-profile schemes.

The Role:

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from tender and procurement through to final account.

This position offers an excellent platform for someone looking to develop their commercial career within the fast-paced workplace fit out and refurbishment sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the commercial management of multiple fit out and refurbishment projects
• Supporting the preparation of cost plans, budgets and tender submissions
• Procuring subcontractor packages and analysing quotations
• Assisting with contract administration and document management
• Preparing applications for payment and client valuations
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Assessing and managing variations throughout the project lifecycle
• Supporting monthly CVR reporting and forecasting activities
• Managing subcontractor accounts and payment processes
• Assisting with final account negotiations and project close-out

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualified or studying towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
• Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Assistant role
• Experience within fit out, refurbishment or construction projects would be advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard commercial software
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
• Ambitious, driven and eager to progress within a commercial career
