We're working exclusively with an ambitious and growing Design & Build contractor based in Birmingham who is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

This isn't a business that delivers standard construction projects. They specialise in creating exceptional commercial environments across hospitality, office, heritage, arts & culture and high-end refurbishment sectors, taking projects from initial concept through to design, procurement and construction. The Role

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Teams, you'll assist in the commercial management of multiple Design & Build projects from inception through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with cost planning and budgeting
• Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Preparing enquiries and analysing quotations
• Measuring works and valuations
• Processing subcontractor payments
• Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting
• Variations and change control
• Supporting final accounts
• Site visits and liaison with project teams
• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a Construction-related discipline
• 1-3 years' Quantity Surveying experience (placement years considered)
• Experience with a main contractor, fit-out contractor or design & build business
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Full UK Driving Licence
