We are working with an established and growing main contractor with a strong presence across the North West. They are seeking Assistant Quantity Surveyors to join their team, based at their head office in the North West, with weekly travel to London to work on a range of exciting projects.
Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of projects, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a supportive commercial environment.
You will be based from the company's North West head office, working alongside an experienced commercial team, with the opportunity to travel to London on a weekly basis. All hotel accommodation, travel and expenses are fully paid for by the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of projects.
- Assisting with the preparation and management of subcontractor packages.
- Reviewing and evaluating subcontractor quotations and applications.
- Assisting with valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of variations and compensation events.
- Monitoring project costs, expenditure and financial forecasts.
- Assisting with cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
- Supporting procurement and subcontract negotiations.
- Building effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assisting with the identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
Education, skills and experience
- A degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a main contractor or construction environment.
- Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach with the desire to learn and develop.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
