Our client is a well-established and growing specialist subcontractor delivering drylining, partitions, ceilings, painting & decorating, and internal fit-out packages across London and the Southeast.
Working alongside many of the UK's leading fit out contractors, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality internal construction packages across commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality sectors.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team across a range of live projects, assisting with cost control, procurement, valuations, and subcontractor account management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of applications for payment and valuations
- Support the management of subcontractor and supplier accounts
- Assist with procurement activities, including obtaining and analysing quotations
- Measure works from drawings and site records
- Support the pricing and management of variations
- Maintain accurate cost reports and commercial records
- Attend site visits and commercial meetings as required
- Assist with forecasting, reporting, and final account preparation
- Work closely with operational teams to monitor project progress and costs
- Support senior commercial staff with day-to-day project commercial management
Quantity Surveyor
The Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects through to final accounts, ensuring financial performance is maintained whilst supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the commercial delivery of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and client valuations
- Procure subcontractor and supplier packages
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and contractual obligations
- Identify, value, and negotiate variations
- Produce monthly CVRs, forecasts, and commercial reports
- Monitor project profitability and identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Attend client, site, and commercial meetings
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
Requirements:
- Strong subcontracting background essential
- Experience within drylining, painting & decorating, interiors, ceilings, partitions, fit-out, or related specialist packages preferred
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Strong negotiation, communication, and commercial management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems
