Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance & Cladding

Office: Around Hertfordshire 
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Car Allowance + Fully Expensed Fuel Card + Flexible Home Working

Our client is a leading main contractor specialising in Planned Maintenance and refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major cladding project currently at the PCSA stage.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will assist with the commercial management of a significant Design & Build cladding project from the PCSA phase through to delivery. This role offers excellent exposure to pre-construction, procurement, subcontractor management, cost reporting and project delivery.

Key responsibilities include

  • Assisting with the commercial management of a cladding project from PCSA through to completion.
  • Supporting the preparation of cost plans, valuations and commercial reports.
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
  • Assisting with subcontractor payments and final accounts.
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supporting contract administration under Design & Build procurement.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
  • Experience working on Design & Build (D&B) projects is essential.
  • Exposure to cladding, refurbishment or planned maintenance projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Good commercial awareness with strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and a desire to develop your career within a supportive commercial team.
  • Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
