Assistant Service Manager – Full Time
Location: Birchington
Hours: Full time. Flexibility is required Monday to Sunday across a rota, including early, late, weekend and occasional waking night shifts as part of the management cover rota.
Salary: £29,012 per annum (pro rata) + £1,200 Complexity Enhancement (pro rata)
A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Eleven 11 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Assistant Service Manager to join a supported living service in Birchington.

About the Role
You'll be supporting three brothers with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours of concern within a supported living environment.
This can be a challenging service at times, so we're looking for someone who remains calm, compassionate and confident in difficult situations. Your ability to respond with patience, consistency and a person-centred approach will have a positive impact on both the people you support and the wider team.
Working alongside the Service Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care while leading, motivating and developing a successful team.
Flexibility is essential, as you'll participate in a management cover rota which may include both day and occasional waking night shifts.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the day-to-day operational management of the service.
• Leading, coaching and developing the staff team.
• Delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
• Promoting independence while balancing positive risk-taking with safeguarding responsibilities.
• Supporting recruitment, inductions, supervision and performance management.
• Assisting with budgets and financial processes alongside the Service Manager.
• Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, legislation, policies and best practice.
• Driving continuous improvement across the service.
• Participating in the on-call rota.
Shift Patterns
Flexibility is essential and shifts may include:
• Early shifts: 7:00am – 3:00pm
• Late shifts: 3:00pm – 10:00pm
• Weekend working
• Occasional waking night shifts as part of the management cover rota
• Participation in the on-call rota
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
• Has experience in a supervisory or management role within social care.
• Has experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding, current legislation and CQC standards.
• Has experience managing budgets and financial information.
• Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Can motivate, coach and develop others.
• Is proactive, compassionate and solution-focused.
Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential, as it enables travel to the service and the use of service vehicles.
