We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of Assistant Service Manager in Poole, Dorset. This role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled automotive professionals to lead and develop a busy aftersales department within a reputable dealership. The successful individual will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining efficient workshop operations.

Duties of the Assistant Service Manager:
  • Supervise and develop the service team to ensure high performance standards
  • Monitor workshop workload and manage workflow efficiently
  • Greet customers professionally, discussing vehicle requirements and providing updates
  • Oversee collection and delivery drivers to ensure punctuality and customer satisfaction
  • Raise and process repair orders accurately; ensure timely completion
  • Manage invoicing, warranty authorisations, and job extensions in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Keep customers informed of costs, progress, and completion times
  • Oversee subcontracted repairs maintaining quality standards
  • Monitor team attendance, punctuality, and overall performance
  • Maintain a tidy, professional workshop environment ensuring health and safety compliance
Requirements of the Assistant Service Manager:
  • Proven experience in an aftersales role within the motor trade
  • Experience working as a Service Advisor is essential
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in an aftersales environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills as the Assistant Service Manager
  • Knowledge of Kerridge or similar dealership management systems is advantageous
  • Immaculate appearance and full valid driving licence are essential
