About the Role

Arcona Group are representing a Regional Construction Company who are seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Trainee / Assistant Site Manager to join a growing construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in site management and gain hands-on experience delivering construction projects from start to finish.

Working alongside experienced Site Managers and Project Managers, you will assist with the day-to-day management of construction activities, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily management of site operations.
  • Support Site Managers with planning and coordinating labour, materials and subcontractors.
  • Monitor site progress and help ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
  • Assist in maintaining health and safety standards on site.
  • Support site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Help manage project documentation, site records and reports.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and clients as required.
  • Report any issues, delays or quality concerns to the Site Manager.
  • Assist with project handover and completion processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' experience within the construction industry is essential as a Trainee Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager 
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in site management.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Understanding of health and safety procedures within a construction environment.
  • Relevant construction qualifications such as a Bachelors Degree,  Level 3 Construction qualification, HNC, HND, NVQ, or degree (or currently working towards one).
  • CSCS Card.
  • SMSTS / SSSTS 
  • First aid at work
