About the ProjectWe are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to contribute to a new build preparatory school project located on a greenfield site within a conservation area. The development includes construction of the school building, multi-use games area (MUGA), tennis court, swale, and extensive landscaping works. You will work alongside an experienced Senior Site Manager who will provide support throughout the 45 week contract.
Job Duties- Assist in the day-to-day management of the construction site to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Support the Senior Site Manager in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives.
- Monitor site progress and quality, reporting any issues or delays promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, site rules, and environmental policies.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, site diaries, and material deliveries.
- Assist in risk assessments and method statements preparation and implementation.
- Facilitate communication between the design team, client representatives, and site personnel.
- Support the management of site logistics including plant, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure effective site housekeeping and waste management throughout the project duration.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
- Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- First Aid qualification.
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Proven experience working on new build education projects, preferably schools or similar facilities.
- Experience in managing new build construction on greenfield sites, especially within conservation areas, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors on site.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and health and safety legislation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Competent in site administration and record keeping.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
The role is site-based within Worcestershire and requires working full-time hours throughout the contract duration. The position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and may require occasional early starts or extended hours to meet project deadlines. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times on site.
