A leading regional contractor is looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a 68-unit affordable housing development in Exeter.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of a 68-unit affordable housing development
  • Supporting the Site Manager in delivering the project safely, on programme and within budget
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed to programme
  • Carrying out quality inspections and managing snagging works
  • Monitoring health and safety compliance across site
  • Managing site records, inspections and daily reporting
  • Coordinating deliveries and site logistics
  • Assisting with NHBC inspections and quality assurance processes
  • Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
  • Supporting programme management and short-term planning
  • Assisting with customer care inspections and plot handovers
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship throughout the project

About You

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman or Site Supervisor
  • Residential construction experience is essential
  • Affordable housing experience would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of NHBC standards and quality requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with subcontractors and site teams
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • First Aid qualification desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
