A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients, who is a geospatial survey provider in the region. This company delivers accurate, reliable survey data and drawings to clients across the full spectrum of property and construction. Specialising in land and topographical surveys, measured building surveys, utility surveys, and engineering surveys, the business combines traditional surveying expertise with the latest digital workflows, including laser scanning, drone mapping, and Revit modelling. Trusted by developers, architects, and engineers throughout the UK, the company has built a strong reputation for precision and dependable service. As demand continues to grow, they are now seeking an experienced Assistant Survey Manager to join the team permanently.

Reporting to the Survey Manager and working closely with the Managing Director, the Assistant Survey Manager will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day survey operations, from planning and quotations to briefing survey crews and checking deliverables. This is an office-based position suited to an experienced surveyor ready to take the next step into a management support role.

Responsibility & Duties

  • Support the Survey Manager with day-to-day survey operations and planning
  • Assist in preparing accurate quotations for prospective survey projects
  • Brief, monitor, and debrief survey crews across live projects
  • Liaise directly with clients on project requirements and progress
  • Check completed deliverables for accuracy and specification compliance
  • Support and direct CAD Technicians and administrative staff
  • Deputise for the Survey Manager as Assistant Survey Manager when required

Experience & Qualification

  • Proven experience within land, topographical, or measured building surveying
  • Excellent working knowledge of Total Stations and AutoCAD
  • RICS, AssocRICS, TCICES, or MCICES membership preferred
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident preparing safety-critical paperwork and health & safety documentation
  • Comfortable working under minimum supervision with strong initiative
  • Full UK driving licence essential for this Assistant Survey Manager role
  • Willing to train and support less experienced survey staff
