Are you an ambitious Assistant Town Planner looking to accelerate your career with a highly respected planning consultancy? Working alongside experienced planning professionals, you'll play an active role in delivering planning advice to a broad range of private and public sector clients while developing your technical expertise and progressing your career.
The Role
As an Assistant Town Planner, you'll support the delivery of planning projects from inception through to completion. You'll work closely with senior planners, clients, architects, and consultants, assisting with planning applications, appeals, policy research, and site appraisals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications.
- Undertaking planning policy and site research.
- Assisting with planning appeals and representations.
- Liaising with local authorities, clients, and external consultants.
- Supporting the preparation of Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, and other planning reports.
- Monitoring planning applications and keeping clients informed of progress.
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and planning committee meetings where appropriate.
- Keeping up to date with changes in planning legislation and policy.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Working towards or recently achieved MRTPI status (or an ambition to do so).
- Previous planning experience within a consultancy, local authority, or developer environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
