πŸš€ About the Role

We're recruiting for two Associate Business Partners to join a forward-thinking local authority finance team during an exciting period of transformation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the Finance Business Partnering function, supporting the organisation through its performance cycle with a strong focus on financial reporting, analysis, and in-year decision support.

You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping drive value for money, improve financial performance, and support the delivery of key services to the community.



πŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on financial reporting and analytical review across service areas
  • Provide expert financial advice to budget holders and senior stakeholders
  • Support budget setting, forecasting, and in-year financial monitoring
  • Analyse performance against budgets, forecasts, and benchmarks
  • Deliver clear insights to support operational decision-making
  • Build capability by training and supporting budget holders
  • Contribute to year-end accounts, grant claims, and bids
  • Support development of business cases (less complex)
  • Ensure strong financial governance, control, and compliance
  • Challenge stakeholders to improve financial outcomes and efficiency


βœ… What We're Looking For

  • Part-qualified CCAB accountant or AAT qualified with strong experience
  • Proven experience in:
    • Financial management and budgeting
    • Forecasting and financial reporting
    • Supporting and influencing non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems
  • Ability to analyse complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Experience within public sector or large organisations


⭐ Desirable

  • Local Government finance experience
  • Knowledge of public sector financial frameworks
  • Experience contributing to corporate budget processes
