Principal or Associate Electrical Design Engineer – (MEP / Building Services)

This role is for a team playing senior electrical design engineer, you will join the MEP team of an established multi-disciplinary consultancy reporting to the electrical director.

You’ll be working on complex and high specification design and/or construction projects, creating or upgrading industrial, research, manufacturing process and pharmaceuticals. Projects are based throughout the UK and Europe and there is an emphasis on technically challenging work

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design drawings with a specialisation in electrical system design.
  • Preparing specifications and schedules and design development reports.
  • Taking projects through from inception to completion and handover.
  • Undertaking survey work.
  • Production of feasibility reports.
  • Producing cost estimates
  • Attend site progress meetings and review installations.
  • Supporting junior staff.
  • Maintaining good client relationships.
  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.

Experience Required

  • Preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in building services or electrical engineering.
  • Solid electrical design experience in the building services sector.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous although not essential.
  • Great interpersonal skills, a team player and a genuine interest in helping others.
