Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Associate Nutritionist to join the central food operations team within an education recruitment environment.
Job Overview
This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of safe, compliant, and nutritious food for children across education settings. The successful candidate will contribute to menu development, manage dietary requirements, and support broader health and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring all activities align with established standards and guidelines.
Working as part of a central nutrition team, the Associate Nutritionist will collaborate with stakeholders including schools, parents, and internal teams to ensure the effective management of special dietary requirements. The position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to improving children’s health through nutrition.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage referrals and communications relating to special dietary requirements
- Support the development and implementation of special diet menus
- Assist in the delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives across education settings
- Provide nutritional expertise to education contracts, ensuring compliance with standards and processes
- Support adherence to relevant legislation, standards, and guidance for children’s nutrition
- Manage and organise the central nutrition team email inbox
- Process dietary safeguarding referral forms and maintain the special diet menu register
- Respond to general queries regarding special diet menus, including communication with parents and teachers
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and track data effectively
- Experience working with specialist dietary requirements and relevant legislation
- A genuine interest in children’s food, nutrition, and education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured and organised manner
- Degree in Nutrition (or suitable equivalent)
- Registered with AfN or BDA
