Attendance Officer/School Administrator

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Contract: Temporary
Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Attendance Officer/Administrator to support a busy school based in Rochdale.
This is a key role within the school, responsible for monitoring pupil attendance, maintaining accurate records and following up on absences. The successful candidate must be confident working independently, able to manage a busy workload and comfortable making quick decisions when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and recording daily pupil attendance
- Following up on unexplained absences with parents and carers
- Updating and maintaining accurate attendance records
- Using SIMS to input and manage pupil information
- Producing attendance reports and identifying patterns or concerns
- Liaising with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leadership
- Providing general administrative support where required
- Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as an Attendance Officer/administrator within a school
- Confident working knowledge of SIMS, ideally within attendance
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- A calm and professional approach when speaking with parents, carers and pupils
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to think quickly and confidently manage changing priorities
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
Previous school-based attendance experience is strongly preferred.
