Role Overview
proAV are a leading global audio-visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally.
Our immediate requirement is for an experienced Technical Estimation Manager to be a key part of our Midlands team, representing proAV taking full responsibility for Technical Management & Estimation.
The Technical Estimation Manager is a commercial and technical role combining regional leadership of the estimating function with direct technical account management for a key client.
The role is responsible for ensuring regional estimating activity is accurate, commercially considered and delivered within agreed timescales, while also acting as a trusted technical partner to the client and internal account team throughout the lifecycle of AV projects.
The position provides a key link between Sales, Estimating, Technical Design, Project Management, suppliers and the client, helping maintain both commercial performance and technical quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure quotations are produced accurately, consistently and with strong commercial awareness, including appropriate consideration of equipment, labour, engineering and project delivery requirements.
- Ensure quotations and supporting information are completed and handed over within agreed internal deadlines.
- Manage and maintain the regional estimating log, providing visibility of current opportunities, workload, priorities and quotation status.
- Support the regional sales team with the development of commercially and technically appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors and key suppliers, ensuring access to competitive pricing, technical support and current product knowledge.
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, quotation quality and commercial performance.
- Attend relevant external industry events, manufacturer events and exhibitions to maintain awareness of new technologies, products and industry trends.
Client Direct Technical Account Manager
- Working alongside the Account Manager, provide dedicated technical ownership and support for the client account.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Account Manager to build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
- Develop AV solutions in accordance with the client's agreed AV standards, ensuring consistency across projects and locations.
- Design and develop more complex or bespoke AV solutions where project requirements sit outside the agreed standards.
- Produce accurate technical and commercial quotations for client projects.
- Work closely with the post-sales design team, reviewing system designs, schematics and technical documentation to ensure the delivered solution aligns with the original design intent.
- Attend bi-weekly account progress meetings to review ongoing projects, upcoming opportunities, technical requirements and potential risks.
- Maintain visibility of the client's upcoming project pipeline and proactively support the Account Manager with technical planning.
- Act as a technical point of contact for Project Managers during the installation and delivery phase, providing clarification and assisting with the resolution of technical issues.
- Help ensure continuity from the initial client requirement through quotation, design, handover, installation and completion.
- Development of staff including internal and external training, developing a skills matrix and future training requirements
- Maintain an organized and professional environment where the team are managed to meet and exceed standards
