Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) to support our growing Data Centre business.
We are committed to providing cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Centre facilities and are recruiting a Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) to join our innovative team based in the UK. The successful candidate will be confident and safety conscious with a core electrical craft background, to manage low voltage electrical installation activities. The LVAP role involves significant responsibility for initial verification inspections, testing and final design validation to ensure compliance and safety in all aspects of electrical installations.
What you will deliver?
- Plan and organise electrical installation activities ensuring adherence to safety protocols and legislation
- Exercise responsibility for the safe control of electrical systems in your area
- Issue, control and withdraw electrical safety documents in line with Approved Safety Rules
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of inspections, test results and compliance documentation
- Engage with project teams to ensure safe energisation and operational readiness
- Report and escalate unsafe conditions, defects or dangerous occurrences
- Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports
- Operational support including review of procedures, best practices and initiatives

Who are we looking for?
- Core electrical craft background with time served experience preferred
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship with a JIB or Scottish JIB Gold Card
- City & Guilds 2391, or Equivalent including EAL (Electrical Testing & Inspection) desirable
- BS 7671 IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
- Authorised Person training with a recognised provider
- Previous authorised AP operational experience desirable
- Proven experience with initial verification inspection and testing requirements, as well as design and verification checks of final installations
- Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor
- Be self-motivated, with proven organisational ability and the drive to meet deadlines
- Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Good knowledge of health & safety legislation, electrical standards and best practices.
