Auto Electrician

Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Auto Electrician on behalf of a leading specialist vehicle manufacturer based in Elland, West Yorkshire.

Location: Elland, West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm / Friday 7am-2pm

Working as part of an established Electrical Team, you'll be responsible for installing, upgrading and troubleshooting electrical systems during the conversion of vehicles into military-spec light mobility and specialist service vehicles.

You'll play a key role in ensuring vehicles are built to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance, working with advanced electrical systems in a fast-paced production environment.

• Install electrical systems and components including auxiliary lighting, cameras, communication equipment, power supplies and winches.

• Install and modify electrical looms and wiring systems.

• Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues using multimeters, scan tools and specialist diagnostic equipment.

• Test and inspect completed installations to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and build documentation.

• Work closely with the Design team to update electrical drawings and build documentation.

• Maintain accurate records of installations and modifications.

• Follow all health, safety and quality procedures in line with ISO standards.

• Continuously improve processes and keep up to date with developments in vehicle electrical systems.

We're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in producing high-quality work and thrives within a collaborative workshop environment.

You will have:

• A recognised Auto Electrician qualification or relevant trade qualification.

• Proven experience working on automotive electrical systems.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams.

• Experience installing auxiliary lighting, communications equipment and electrical components.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A full UK Driving Licence.

• Experience working on 4x4 vehicles or commercial fleet modifications.

• Knowledge of military, defence or specialist vehicle conversions.

• Familiarity with modern vehicle electronics.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to the company's European production facility.
