Automotive Team Leader

Shift: 1.45pm 10.15pm

This is a temporary role to cover absence.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the Warehouse and Sequencing team on the afternoon shift, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in line with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Warehouse and Sequencing operation during the afternoon shift.
  • Plan and organise people and resources to meet daily requirements.
  • Achieve and maintain agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor the correct use of Health & Safety equipment.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and recorded correctly.
  • Carry out regular quality and process checks.
  • Ensure deliveries are accurate and meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure employees follow SOIs, process instructions, quality alerts and packing requirements.
  • Keep the training matrix up to date and ensure all required training evidence is completed.
  • Train, coach and support team members on company policies, procedures and process updates.
  • Motivate the team and lead by example.
  • Support HR with employee-related activities, including:Return to Work meetings, Probation review, Appraisals, Attendance managemen, Performance management, Disciplinary meetings.
  • Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organisation within the workplace.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts, departments and management.
  • Complete all required paperwork and records accurately and on time.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties or projects requested by the management team.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a Warehouse, Automotive, Manufacturing or Logistics environment.
  • Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience.
  • Good communication and people-management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow and enforce company procedures.
  • A positive attitude towards teamwork and continuous improvement.
