DevOps / Cloud Engineer (AWS) | Active SC Clearance Essential

Day Rate: £600 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Hybrid, London (1 day per week onsite)
Contract Length: Initial 6 months
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

We are partnering with a leading government programme to recruit an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join a highly skilled cloud engineering function. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale digital transformation programme, helping to design, automate and support secure cloud environments that underpin critical public sector services.
Working closely with architects, developers and security specialists, you will play a key role in building scalable cloud platforms, enhancing deployment capabilities and driving DevOps best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Build, optimise and support CI/CD pipelines utilising GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Deploy, manage and troubleshoot containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions to improve platform visibility.
  • Automate operational and deployment processes using Python and Bash scripting.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability and high availability.
  • Maintain security, compliance and governance standards across cloud environments.
  • Support DevSecOps and Platform Engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, providing guidance and best-practice recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Proven expertise with Terraform.
  • Commercial experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Bash scripting and Python automation experience.
  • Solid understanding of IAM and cloud security principles.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging and observability tools.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
