Baby Room Leader – Thames Ditton
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week | 4 days per week | 7:30am–6:30pm

We’re looking for a warm, confident and passionate Baby Room Leader to join our welcoming team at a beautiful, busy nursery in Thames Ditton.
This is a truly special setting with a wonderful homely and cosy feel, where children are at the heart of everything we do. We have a huge outdoor space with Forest School facilities, live chickens in the garden, and a fantastic chef who prepares delicious, homemade food for the children every day.
About the role
As our Baby Room Leader, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our baby room, caring for children from 3 months old and leading a small, supportive team.
You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where our youngest children can thrive. You’ll also work closely with parents, colleagues and the wider management team to ensure every child receives the highest standard of care and learning.
We’re looking for someone who is confident with babies, passionate about providing exceptional care and enjoys supporting and developing others, as well as themselves.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a small team within the baby room.
- Providing high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for babies aged from 3 months.
- Building strong, positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Planning and delivering engaging activities appropriate to babies' individual needs and development.
- Supporting observations, assessments and children's next steps.
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety and all nursery policies are followed.
- Creating a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues, helping to create a positive and happy team culture.
- Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team.
About you
- A minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
- Previous nursery/early years experience.
- Confidence and experience working with babies, ideally from 3 months old.
- A genuine passion for working with children and providing high-quality care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Confidence in taking responsibility and leading others.
- A caring, positive and nurturing approach.
