Back of House Assistant – Christmas Events

£18.00 per hour | Evening & Night Shifts | December 2026

Location: Milton Keynes

OA Recruitment is looking for an experienced and reliable Back of House Assistant to support a busy events venue in Milton Keynes throughout December.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn some extra money in the run-up to Christmas, working alongside a busy kitchen and events team.

Working Hours & Pay

• £18.00 per hour
• 6:00pm – 2:00am
• 30-minute unpaid break
• £135 per shift (7.5 paid hours)

Week 1

• Wednesday 2nd December
• Thursday 3rd December
• Friday 4th December
• Saturday 5th December
• Sunday 6th December

Week 2

• Wednesday 9th December
• Thursday 10th December
• Friday 11th December
• Saturday 12th December

Week 3

• Wednesday 16th December
• Thursday 17th December
• Friday 18th December
• Saturday 19th December
• Sunday 20th December

Additional date: Monday 21st December – Event de-rig (hours to be confirmed).

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the back of house kitchen area during evening events.
• Liaising with chefs to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations.
• Coordinating and providing direction to the evening kitchen porters.
• Ensuring kitchen areas remain clean, organised and safe.
• Supporting the wider catering team during busy service periods.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and health and safety.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working in a busy kitchen, catering or events environment.
• Confident communicating with chefs and coordinating kitchen porters.
• Organised, proactive and able to work well under pressure.
• A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
• Reliable and available for evening and late-night shifts.
• Must be aged 18 or over.
