Responsibilities - Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist
- Manage a caseload of verbal autistic secondary-aged students.
- Deliver assessment and intervention with a focus on social communication, emotional regulation and functional communication.
- Act as the lead Speech & Language Therapist within the school while working alongside two experienced part-time Speech & Language Therapists who share the caseload.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Drama Therapists and Dyslexia Support specialists.
- Build positive therapeutic relationships with students and contribute to their communication and educational outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and effectively manage your caseload
Requirements
- Qualified Experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration (or eligible to register).
- Experience working with autistic young people, or a strong interest in this area.
- Committed to delivering neurodiversity-affirming practice.
- Confident managing and organising an independent caseload.
- A proactive, engaging and personable approach to working with students.
