Band 7 Echocardiographer (Cardiac Physiologist)

Overview

Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Echocardiographers to join the Cardiac Outpatients Department on a long-term placement contract. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who can independently perform and report echocardiograms using GE Echo machines. Candidates should have a minimum of two years' post-qualification scanning experience. BSE accreditation is desirable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your NHS experience within a supportive cardiology team.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently perform and report echocardiographic examinations.
• Use GE Echo machines to conduct high-quality cardiac imaging and assessments.
• Deliver accurate diagnostic findings to support patient management and clinical decision-making.
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to the effective delivery of cardiac diagnostic services.
• Work collaboratively within the cardiac outpatient multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, clinical governance requirements, and patient safety standards.

Essential Requirements

• BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent qualification.
• Significant post-qualification experience across a broad range of cardiac physiology procedures.
• Minimum of two years' independent echocardiography scanning experience.
• Ability to independently scan and report echocardiograms.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Previous NHS experience.
• Current UK professional registration.

Desirable Requirements

• British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation.
