Job Title: Band 8a Medical Workforce Manager
Location: Nottingham City Hospital Campus, Hucknall Road, Nottingham NG5 1PH (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00 - 5:00
Salary: Band 8a £26.06 per hour + accrued holiday pay
End Date: 6 Months

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Workforce Manager to oversee staffing operations within our NHS Trust partnerships in Nottingham. Based in the UK, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the optimal deployment of healthcare professionals, supporting our mission to improve patient care and workforce flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Medical Workforce Leadership: Line manage the Medical Staffing Team and ensure the unique requirements of medical colleagues are integrated into organizational people programmes.
- Rostering & Job Planning: Oversee medical rota coordination, enforce contractually compliant electronic rostering, and coordinate annual Job Planning.
- Recruitment & Locums: Lead on both strategic and operational medical recruitment, manage temporary staffing, and source locum cover within the Trust's governance guidelines.
- Compliance: Ensure robust systems are in place so clinical colleagues receive annual appraisals and are supported with GMC revalidation.
- Lead and supervise the medical workforce team to ensure efficient staffing processes.
- Manage budgets and financial planning for workforce deployment.
- Coordinate with NHS Trusts and healthcare professionals to meet staffing needs.
- Develop and implement HR policies related to medical staffing.
- Support international recruitment initiatives for nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
- Monitor workforce performance and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Foster a collaborative environment aligned with NHS values.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within healthcare or related fields.
- Strong management skills with experience in workforce or project management.
- Knowledge of financial management principles.
- Background in human resources or personnel management.
- Experience or familiarity with healthcare staffing is preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within NHS frameworks and standards.
- Prior experience with international recruitment is a plus.
