Our client runs an award-winning charitable, not-for-profit nursing home providing nursing, dementia, respite and end-of-life care, alongside a thriving Day Centre and Home Care service. For over 30 years, we have supported older people to live with dignity, independence and purpose in a warm, welcoming environment.

The role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our experienced nursing team following the retirement of a long-serving colleague. Initially offered as a bank position, there is the opportunity for hours to become permanent towards the new year.

You will provide safe, effective and person-centred nursing care while leading and supervising the care team on duty. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, planning and reviewing residents' nursing care.

  • Administering medication and maintaining accurate clinical records.

  • Monitoring residents' wellbeing and responding to changing clinical needs.

  • Supporting residents with dementia, complex nursing, respite and end-of-life care.

  • Leading and supervising staff, delegating duties and ensuring safe care delivery.

  • Liaising with GPs, families and other healthcare professionals.

  • Maintaining safeguarding, CQC and NMC standards.

Requirements

  • Current NMC registration as an RGN or RMN.

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

  • Ability to lead a shift and coordinate care safely.

  • Commitment to dignity, safeguarding and person-centred care.

  • Willingness to work weekends on an ad hoc basis.

Experience in nursing homes, dementia care, palliative care or supervising staff is desirable.

Benefits

  • NMC registration fees paid by Horsfall House.

  • Company pension scheme.

  • Subsidised meals.

  • Free parking.

  • Blue Light Card eligibility.

  • Supportive team environment and development opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established charitable care provider, with the potential to progress from bank work into a permanent nursing position.
