The Role – Behaviour Mentor – Southwark

We are looking for a confident and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join an SEMH school in Southwark from September 2026 on a long-term basis.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may experience behavioural and emotional difficulties linked to SEMH, ADHD, ASD, social and emotional needs and challenging behaviour.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 intervention and mentoring support
  • Supporting students within the classroom and across the school
  • Helping students manage and regulate their behaviour and emotions
  • Supporting students to engage positively with their learning
  • Monitoring behaviour and helping students remain focused and in lessons
  • Supporting students during break and lunchtime
  • Patrolling the school during lesson times to encourage attendance and engagement
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider behaviour team

Physical Intervention/Restraint Training is highly desirable, although relevant experience in behaviour management and pastoral support will also be considered.
