About the Role

Long Term Futures are working with an inclusive primary school in Haringey to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils within the school's Additionally Resourced Base.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, SEMH, ADHD, or complex behavioural needs. You will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop emotional regulation, and build positive relationships within a structured specialist setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support within the Additionally Resourced Base
  • Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, SEMH, ADHD, and communication needs
  • Using positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and emotional regulation
  • Assisting pupils with transitions, routines, and social interaction
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider multidisciplinary team
  • Creating a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting pupils to achieve both academic and personal development targets

About the School

This welcoming primary school has a well-established Additionally Resourced Base, providing specialist provision for pupils with additional needs while promoting inclusion across the wider school. The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with challenging behaviour or additional needs
  • Is calm, resilient, and confident managing behaviour positively
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is passionate about supporting children with SEND to reach their full potential

Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in psychology, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, mental health, SEN support, or behaviour mentoring.
