Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome behavioural and emotional barriers to learning?
We are currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary SEND school in Enfield from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with children or young people who can build strong relationships and provide consistent, positive support.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may have additional needs and require support with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students
- Helping pupils manage challenging behaviour and regulate their emotions
- Supporting students to engage positively with their learning
- Working alongside teachers and other support staff
- Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing school expectations
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
- Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Behaviour Mentor will ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Experience supporting challenging behaviour or additional needs
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain positive and professional in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Experience within a SEND, SEMH or specialist education setting is desirable but not essential
