Simply Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor in Orpington to join a specialist SEMH school supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 (KS2) and Key Stage 3 (KS3).
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, vulnerable children or young people at risk of exclusion.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor in Orpington, you will provide targeted behavioural, pastoral and emotional support to pupils who may find mainstream education challenging.
The successful candidate will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours and build the confidence and resilience needed to make progress both inside and outside the classroom.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting children with SEMH and behavioural needs
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Managing and de-escalating challenging situations
Acting as a calm, consistent and positive role model
Supporting pupils who have experienced or are at risk of school exclusion
Helping pupils re-engage with education and learning
Promoting positive behaviour, attendance and engagement
Developing pupils' confidence, resilience and independence
Supporting individual behaviour, learning and pastoral plans
Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and other professionals
About the School
The school is a specialist SEMH provision in Orpington, Kent, supporting pupils across KS2 and KS3 who may struggle to access mainstream education.
Pupils may have experienced school exclusion, challenging behaviour, emotional difficulties or significant barriers to learning. The school provides a structured and supportive environment where pupils can receive the individualised support they need to make positive progress.
