Aspire People are looking for Behaviour Mentors to support children and young people with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs across a range of education settings.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have transferable professional experience from youth work, mentoring, alternative provision, residential support, community projects or similar roles.
You don't necessarily need to have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant. What matters is your experience working with young people and your ability to build relationships, manage difficult situations and encourage positive behaviour.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
* Supporting young people with SEMH and behavioural needs
* Building positive and consistent relationships
* Helping pupils re-engage with education
* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Providing pastoral and mentoring support
* Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
* Supporting pupils through challenging situations
* Working alongside teaching and pastoral teams
* Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and school
Relevant Backgrounds May Include:

The Ideal Candidate:
* Professional experience working with children or young people
* Experience supporting behavioural, emotional or social needs
* Strong relationship-building skills
* Calm and resilient approach
* Confident maintaining boundaries
* Patient and consistent when dealing with challenging behaviour
* Good understanding of safeguarding
* Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers
