Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with behavioural and additional needs?
A Secondary SEN School in Reading is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Therapists, Behavioural Specialists, or Teachers.
As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural, emotional, and additional needs.
- Support students in developing positive behaviours, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
- Help students manage challenging situations and develop appropriate strategies for managing their emotions and behaviour.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a calm, positive, and supportive learning environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
We're looking for a Behavioural Support Assistant who is:
- Compassionate, patient, resilient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
- A confident communicator with a genuine interest in behaviour, mental health, and SEN.
- Able to remain calm and consistent when supporting students who may display challenging or distressed behaviour.
- Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy, or behavioural support.

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
- Contract: Full-time
