Job SummaryBehaviour Support Assistants are required to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist Birmingham school. This rewarding role is ideal for resilient, proactive and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The School and RoleKitts Green Academy is a specialist SEMH provision supporting boys aged 6–16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in education. The school is looking to appoint dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work closely with pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.
Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will help pupils develop emotional regulation strategies, build positive relationships and re-engage with learning. You will play a key role in supporting behaviour management, promoting resilience and encouraging pupils to develop the confidence and life skills needed to be successful both in school and beyond.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care or support work backgrounds who are looking to build a rewarding career within specialist education. RequirementsThe desired Behaviour Support Assistant will have;
- Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A calm, resilient and proactive approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people
- A passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs
