Job Role:

Bench Joiner – Bespoke Joinery

Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire (with occasional travel to Derby)

Commutable from: Ashbourne, Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Belper, Ripley, Nottingham, Matlock and surrounding areas.

Shift:

Monday – Friday (Days)

Pay Rate / Salary:

£13.50 - £18.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Operating across two sites, the company continues to grow and is focused on improving efficiency, raising quality standards, and delivering an outstanding service to its customers.

Due to continued growth and increased demand, they are now looking for an experienced Bench Joiner to join their skilled production team.

The Job Role Position:

Due to continued expansion, the company is now recruiting for a Highly Skilled Bench Joiner to manufacture bespoke joinery products within their workshop environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced joiner who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to be part of a business that values traditional craftsmanship alongside modern manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities include:

• Manufacturing high-quality bespoke joinery products from technical drawings
• Producing bespoke windows, doors, gates, and exterior joinery items
• Working on heritage and restoration projects where accuracy and attention to detail are essential
• Producing specialist joinery including fire doors, cabinetry, counters, and internal joinery where required
• Selecting and working with appropriate materials to achieve the required finish and quality
• Reading and interpreting detailed drawings and specifications
• Ensuring all work meets strict quality standards before completion

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the Bench Joiner position will be an experienced craftsman with a strong background in bespoke joinery manufacturing.

This role would suit someone from a background such as:

• Bench Joiner
• Bespoke Joiner
• Cabinet Maker
• Furniture Maker

Candidates should have:

• Proven experience as a Bench Joiner within a manufacturing/workshop environment
• Strong experience producing bespoke exterior joinery
• Ability to manufacture products from technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Strong understanding of traditional joinery techniques
• Understanding of production targets, quoted hours, and working efficiently

Desirable experience:

• Heritage or restoration joinery
• Internal joinery and cabinetry
• Fire door manufacture and compliance standards

Licence/Certification Required:

No formal qualifications required.

Desirable:

• NVQ / City & Guilds in Joinery or Carpentry
• CSCS card (advantageous)
• Health & Safety awareness

A full driving licence would be advantageous due to occasional travel between sites.
