Summary We’re looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join our team in Chorley. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background managing complex bids in demanding environments, who thrives on delivering high-quality submissions to tight deadlines. You’ll play a key part in securing new business by leading end-to-end tender processes, creating compelling proposals, and coordinating stakeholders across the organisation.
Salary £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Location and Working Pattern Chorley (Hybrid working available) 4-day working week

Responsibilities
- Lead the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification through to submission and handover.
- Coordinate inputs from technical, commercial, and delivery teams to develop winning tenders aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare and review bid documentation including executive summaries, commercial proposals, and supporting material.
- Ensure submissions are compliant, compelling, and delivered on time to exceptional standards.
- Embed consistent processes and best practice across all tendering activities.
- Develop and manage a library of high-quality response materials to improve efficiency and submission quality.
- Track progress against annual bid targets and maintain accurate reporting.
- Mentor and lead members of the Bid Team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Must-have Requirements
- Proven experience managing high-value, multi-disciplinary bids within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting challenging deadlines.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a history of influencing across multiple functions.
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and compelling proposals.
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Nice-to-have Skills
- APMP Certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Experience in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear or engineering.
