As part of continued growth, a leading multidisciplinary are looking for a Bid Writer to join their busy London office.
This is a mid-weight opportunity for a confident, proactive writer and thinker who can take ownership of key bids and turn complex technical information into clear, well-structured and persuasive proposals.
The role would suit an experienced bids and proposals professional who is not only a talented writer, but also an influential and collaborative communicator.
Bid Writer Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and write compelling, tailored bid responses that align with client requirements and objectives.
- Work closely with technical experts, operational teams and senior leaders to gather relevant information for submissions.
- Create clear, concise and persuasive
- Research and gather information from a wide range of sources, writing content from scratch or editing existing material where appropriate.
- Facilitate win-theme development, storyboarding and answer-planning sessions.
- Review, proofread and edit bid content to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance and high standards of grammar and style.
- Conduct one-to-one interviews with operational colleagues to capture technical knowledge and project insight.
- Develop and maintain case studies, project examples and testimonials that demonstrate their experience and expertise.
- Ensure all submissions meet legal, contractual and client-specific requirements.
- Support the preparation of presentation materials and slide decks where required.
- Work with graphic designers to produce visuals that strengthen and enhance bid responses.
- Review feedback from successful and unsuccessful bids and recommend improvements for future submissions.
Bid Writer - Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a bid writing or proposal writing role.
- A passion for writing and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and sound critical-thinking ability.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach, with the confidence to work across different disciplines and levels of seniority.
- Experience within construction, engineering, property or a related sector would be advantageous
Bid Writer - In Return?
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000
- Private healthcare (Bupa individual cover, with partner/family options at reduced cost)
- 25 days' holiday plus the ability to buy, sell, or carry over up to 5 days per year
- 3 paid volunteering days annually
- 6% employer pension contribution (minimum 3% employee contribution)
