Bid Writer – Tier 1 / Tier 2 Main Contractor Experience Required

An established construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join its regional Preconstruction Team. Based in the Home Counties, with flexibility for hybrid working, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing major projects across a varied portfolio.

Working closely with the Preconstruction and Business Development teams, you will take ownership of the written element of bids, producing compelling, high-quality submissions that maximise work-winning opportunities.

The Role

As the Bid Writing lead, you will:

• Produce engaging and persuasive content for PQQs, tenders and proposals.
• Develop executive summaries, win themes and client-focused responses.
• Conduct detailed research into clients, competitors, markets and upcoming opportunities.
• Interview technical teams to gather project information and translate it into compelling bid content.
• Review and edit submissions to ensure consistency, quality and compliance.
• Coordinate bid workshops, manage submission programmes and ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Prepare project case studies, team CVs and supporting bid documentation.
• Maintain the bid content library and support continuous improvement through post-tender feedback.
• Assist with tender clarifications and client interview preparation.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• Previous Bid Writing experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Main Contractor.
• A proven track record of producing successful, work-winning submissions.
• Excellent research, writing and editing skills.
• The ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines.
• Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
