Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annum depending on experience

Are you an experienced Bid Writer looking to join a well-established main contractor with an impressive pipeline of projects?

Our client is a respected construction main contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, residential, industrial and public sector developments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a talented Bid Writer to strengthen their pre-construction team.

The Role

Working closely with the Bid Manager, Estimating team and operational colleagues, you'll be responsible for producing compelling, high-quality bid submissions that help secure new business opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating persuasive content and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and manage high-quality PQQ, SQ, ITT and tender submissions.
  • Develop engaging responses that clearly communicate the company's strengths and value proposition.
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to gather technical information and project details.
  • Ensure all submissions are compliant, accurate and submitted within deadlines.
  • Maintain and develop the bid library, case studies and supporting documentation.
  • Review client requirements and tailor responses to meet specific evaluation criteria.
  • Proofread and quality-check submissions to ensure consistency, accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support continuous improvement of bid processes and documentation.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Bid Writer within the construction industry, ideally for a main contractor.
  • Strong written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience producing successful tender submissions for public and private sector projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a collaborative bid team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using bid management software being advantageous.
