We’re working with an established construction and property services contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join their team in Romford.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in social housing, repairs & maintenance, refurbishment or construction who wants to play a key role in winning new contracts and framework opportunities.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling tender submissions for housing associations, local authorities and other public-sector clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing bids from initial opportunity through to final submission
  • Writing and coordinating PQQs, SQs, ITTs and framework submissions
  • Reviewing tender documentation and identifying key requirements
  • Producing high-quality technical and quality responses
  • Developing method statements, case studies and project examples
  • Working closely with operational, commercial and technical teams
  • Gathering information from internal stakeholders and turning it into compelling bid content
  • Developing strong win themes and client-focused responses
  • Maintaining and developing the company's bid library
  • Ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered within deadlines
  • Supporting continuous improvement and lessons learned across the bid function

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposal Writer or similar
  • Experience within social housing, property services, construction, repairs & maintenance or refurbishment
  • Strong knowledge of public-sector tendering and procurement
  • Excellent written English and attention to detail
  • Experience producing persuasive tender responses
  • The ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint

Experience with housing associations, local authorities, planned maintenance, refurbishment or public-sector frameworks would be highly advantageous.
