ROLE: Claims Executive – US Casualty & Specialty Lines
LOCATION: LONDON – City
SALARY: £65,000
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
My client is a well-established independent Lloyd’s broker with a singular focus on improving the way businesses manage risk. On a mission to reinvigorate broking, they have ambitious growth plans and are looking to add a Claims Associate to their London team.
The successful candidate will provide technical claims support across multinational and multi-layered programmes, with a focus on US casualty binders, financial lines and property. You will be responsible for ensuring claims are valid, processed and paid within agreed timescales, acting as a key claims advocate for clients throughout the lifecycle of each matter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee and coordinate a portfolio of US casualty binder claims, including Professional Liability, General Liability, E&O, EPL, Crisis Management and other specialty liability classes, ensuring effective communication between clients, TPAs, coverholders and insurers
· Review and assess claims information, coverage positions and carrier responses, providing clients with clear, commercially focused advice
· Monitor claim progress from notification to resolution, ensuring all parties meet contractual, regulatory and service-level requirements
· Act as a key claims advocate for clients, negotiating with insurers, TPAs, adjusters and legal representatives to support favourable and timely outcomes
· Demonstrate strong working knowledge of CLASS and ECF systems, ensuring efficient submission, tracking and agreement of claims within the Lloyd’s and company markets
· Provide claims support across financial lines (D&O, E&O, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity) and property, including CAT and technical industrial risks, for both direct and reinsurance placements
· Use broking systems to produce documents and accounting entries, ensuring their accuracy
· Liaise with colleagues across London and overseas offices to deliver a consistent and collaborative claims service
· Participate in client reviews, renewal preparation and underwriter and broker meetings
DAY TO DAY
· Managing an active portfolio of US casualty binder claims from first notification through to settlement
· Reviewing coverage positions and drafting commercially focused advice for clients
· Submitting and tracking claims via CLASS and ECF, maintaining data accuracy across internal systems
· Negotiating with insurers, TPAs, adjusters and legal representatives on behalf of clients
· Liaising with London and overseas colleagues to ensure a consistent claims experience across the network
· Attending client reviews, renewal meetings and market meetings as required
· Ensuring claims records and data are maintained in line with Lloyd’s and company market requirements
EXPERIENCE
· Previous experience working with US casualty binders and third-party claims is essential
· Good working knowledge of the (re)insurance market and London systems – CLASS, ECF and IMR
· Knowledge of property and financial lines advantageous but not essential
· Experience within the London Market, ideally within a Lloyd’s broker or MGA environment
· Knowledge of Eclipse and/or ImageRight advantageous
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, re-prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
SKILLS
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and messaging across all stakeholders
· Well organised with the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise workloads as demands evolve
· Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
· A collaborative team player who is comfortable working across London and international offices
· CII qualified or working towards qualification is advantageous
· Commercially minded with a proactive, client-first approach
