BMW Service Manager at Sytner, Tamworth, Staffordshire
Sytner · Direct employer
An exceptional opportunity has arisen to lead the BMW & MINI Service operation at Sytner Tamworth – one of the largest, busiest and highest-performing Service Departments within the BMW and MINI Retailer network.
For the right person, this is a genuinely exciting career opportunity.
You will be taking leadership of an established, successful operation, working with a talented and highly engaged team in quite simply one of the very best BMW & MINI facilities and working environments in the UK.
We are immensely proud of what we have built at Tamworth: a business with high standards, strong performance and, just as importantly, a fantastic culture of positivity, teamwork and people genuinely wanting each other to succeed.
We are now looking for an outstanding Service Manager with the energy, ambition and leadership ability to take that team forward.
About the role
As our BMW & MINI Service Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of a substantial Service operation, including our Service Advisors, Technicians and supporting colleagues.
This is a senior and influential leadership position within the Retailer.
You will work closely with the Head of Aftersales and wider Management Team to ensure that we continue to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers, an outstanding environment for our colleagues and consistently strong operational and commercial results.
You will:
- Lead, inspire and develop a large, high-performing Service team, creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work and are able to perform at their very best.
- Champion an exceptional BMW and MINI customer experience, with a relentless focus on getting things right and taking great care of our customers.
- Drive operational excellence throughout the Service Department – ensuring efficiency, productivity, quality and first-time-right performance.
- Take ownership of the department's commercial performance, maximising the opportunities presented by labour, MOT, tyres, lubricants, maintenance and associated Service activity.
- Coach and develop your leadership team and colleagues, recognising great performance and helping individuals fulfil their potential.
- Work collaboratively with Parts, Sales and the wider Retailer team – at Tamworth we succeed together.
- Maintain the very highest Manufacturer, Sytner, Health & Safety and operational standards.
- Bring ideas, energy and continuous improvement to an already successful operation.
About you
Someone who enjoys developing people, creates belief and enthusiasm around them and understands that outstanding results are usually the consequence of an outstanding team and culture.
You will be commercially astute and comfortable operating within a large, fast-paced Aftersales environment. You will understand the disciplines and performance measures that underpin a successful Service business, while never losing sight of the customer or the colleagues delivering that experience every day.
You will combine high standards with a positive leadership style – visible, approachable, accountable and capable of bringing people with you.
Previous senior Service/Aftersales management experience within the automotive industry will be important, together with strong operational and technical understanding.
BMW or MINI experience would clearly be advantageous, but for an exceptional individual, leadership capability, attitude, ambition and cultural fit will matter just as much to us.
Why Tamworth?
You will inherit a strong team, an established operation and outstanding facilities – but with the scope and support to put your own stamp on what happens next.
