Hours iideally 8.30 - 4pm x 3 days a week but we can be flexible
At The Therapy Gardens, we believe gardens can change lives.
As a registered charity, we provide horticultural therapy and meaningful outdoor activities for people living with a wide range of physical and mental health challenges. Every member of our team plays an important part in helping us deliver this life-changing work.
We're now looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of our charity. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and wants to use their skills to support a truly worthwhile organisation.
The Role
Working approximately 21 hours per week, you'll be responsible for:
• Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
• Purchase and sales ledger
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• Credit control where required
• Preparing management accounts and financial information for the leadership team and external accountants
• VAT returns and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with payroll and pension administration
• Supporting budgeting and cashflow reporting
• Maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with charity and accounting requirements
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
• Previous bookkeeping or finance experience within a small or medium-sized organisation
• Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential)
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
• The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• A friendly, positive approach and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team
Experience preparing accounts for a registered charity is highly desirable, although not essential.
Location
The Therapy Gardens is located in the beautiful village of Normandy, Surrey. Due to our rural location, there is no practical public transport serving the site, so applicants will need access to their own car or motorbike.
