Location: Cambridgeshire (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £25,500 - £27,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing professional services firm, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will manage the bookkeeping requirements of a varied portfolio of clients while working closely with the wider accounts team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the bookkeeping requirements for a portfolio of clients.
• Processing sales and purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Performing regular bank reconciliations.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Responding to client queries via telephone, email and in person.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous bookkeeping experience and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
• Experience within an accountancy practice environment, although this is not essential.
• Knowledge of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero.
• Experience with Sage would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients would be beneficial.
