Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Shift time: 9am - 3pm or 10am - 4pm (whatever you prefer)

A local family run business are seeking an enthusiastic, well organised, reliable, pragmatic and structured individual with strong attention to detail to join our small team at our site in Newburn Newcastle.

This is not your typical role, as a Bookkeeper / Administrator you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks covering different areas of the family group across 4 different businesses.

Main duties

• Prepare invoices and maintain the sales ledger
• Manage the purchase ledger from processing purchase invoices through to making payments
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Preparing trial balances
• Provide management information on an ad hoc basis
• Support with year-end procedures
• General administration duties
• Support the team in answering incoming calls and deal with enquiries.
• Actively optimise supplier costs to minimise expenditure
• Petty cash invoicing

Requirements

• Bookkeeping qualification or proven experience
• Proficiency in IT software packages including Xero and Hubdoc (essential)
• Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to retain confidentiality at all times
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Clear DBS check

Schedule

• Part time, up to 24 hours per week
• 4 day working week

Experience

• Bookkeeping 3 years (essential)
• Administration (preferred)
