Job Description City Calling is recruiting Bricklayers for ad-hoc work on projects across Aylesford Our client, an established specialist brickwork and envelope contractor, carries out packages on projects across Aylesford This is ad-hoc work — short-notice cover, day work and short bookings as projects need them — so it suits people who want flexibility, or who want to keep busy between longer runs. We're looking for skilled Bricklayers who can turn up, get stuck in and work to a high standard from day one. The role

  • Bricklaying and blockwork on residential and commercial projects
  • Facing brickwork, feature detailing, banding and pointing
  • Cavity wall construction, insulation and wall ties
  • Fitting cavity trays, DPCs, lintels, closers and movement joints
  • Blockwork to inner leaf, cores and party walls
  • Building to line, level and gauge from drawings
  • Working safely from scaffold
  • Keeping work areas tidy and materials protected

What you’ll need

Valid CSCS card NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying (or equivalent time-served experience) Proven bricklaying experience on site Own tools and full PPE Ability to work accurately to line and level with minimal supervision Available at short notice and happy with ad-hoc bookings Reliable — if you say you are coming, you turn up

Nice to have

Own transport — projects move around London and the South East Flexibility to travel and to take work at short notice Working at Height, Abrasive Wheels or First Aid tickets Experience of feature or high-spec facing brickwork
